Omonigho Oyoma Brown is a distinguished Lawyer, contract management expert, and corporate leader, with over 16 years of experience in construction, oil and gas, and financial services across Africa. She has played a key role in executing major infrastructure projects, leading strategic contract negotiations, and ensuring regulatory compliance. Her expertise spans high-stakes legal advisory, contract management, dispute resolution, and corporate governance amongst others.
Currently, she is the Head of Contract Management (Corporate Head) at Julius Berger Nigeria PLC, where she leads a team of lawyers and quantity surveyors managing a contract portfolio worth over $3 billion. Previously, she served as Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA) Senior Contracts Analyst at SLB (formerly Schlumberger Inc.), safeguarding the business’ interest in energy projects across Nigeria, Ghana, Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, and Ethiopia; and a Legal Officer at Guaranty Trust Bank PLC (Now GTCO).
Omonigho holds an MBA (distinction) from Nexford University, US, an LLM from the University of South Wales, UK, and an LLB (honors) from Delta State University, Abraka, Nigeria. She was called to the Nigeran Bar in 2008, winning the 2nd Best Overall Performance Prize and other prizes. She received an honorary doctorate in business administration from the Commonwealth University of Arts, Technology and Business in 2024.
Omonigho is a Fellow of Institute of Management Consultants Nigeria (IMC-Nigeria) and holds certifications in Commercial and Contract Management, Lean Project Management, Management Consulting, Arbitration, Negotiation, Six Sigma, and Scrum Fundamentals.
Beyond her corporate endeavors, Omonigho contributes to policy development in Africa through her work with the Africa Construction Law and the Africa Arbitration Academy. She is a member the Drafting Committee that authored the groundbreaking and multiple award winning “African Arbitration Academy Bilateral Investment Treaty for African States” setting the standard for innovative investment policy frameworks across Africa.
She has also shared her expertise as a Speaker at key industry conferences and events, including the Ghana Public Sector Lawyers Training Conference 2024; the Africa Construction Law Conference 2023; the Paris Arbitration Week 2020; the Society for Construction Law Nigeria Inaugural Conference 2019; Women in Infrastructure Community Africa (WICA) and Inter-Bau Foundation respective events, where she championed diversity and inclusion in the construction sector and infrastructure industry.
