Bwalya holds a B.Eng. (Civil), M.Sc. (Construction), LLM-Construction Law and Arbitration with over 43 years of experience covering building, civil and mechanical construction in Zambia, Tanzania, Mozambique and Congo.

He is a Chartered Arbitrator, Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators-UK, a FIDIC Certified Adjudicator and a FIDIC Certified Trainer- Fundamental Construction Contracts v2. He is also a Registered Engineer, Fellow of the Engineering Institution of Zambia and the Chartered Institute of Building-UK as well as being a Chartered Construction Manager, a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers and the Association of Consulting Engineers-Zambia.

Bwalya has published many articles internationally on dispute resolution and the FIDIC contract forms. He is also a contributor , Case Law on UNCITRAL1 Text [CLOUT] for Zambia. Additionally, he is also a trainer in construction contracts and public procurement in Zambia.

Bwalya practices as a claims consultant, Arbitrator, Adjudicator, Dispute, Expert Witness, Dispute Adjudication Board Member and is listed under various international arbitral Institutions.
