Joana Brandão

Joana is a partner in the Public Law practice – construction sector – with over 20 years of experience, specializing in construction, infrastructure, and concessions. She has extensive expertise in advising Portuguese and international investors on major construction projects, from contract negotiation to implementation, including EPC, O&M, BOOT, PMC, and supervision agreements.

She has played a key role in large-scale real estate and urban regeneration projects across residential, tourism, office, and logistics sectors. Joana also has significant experience in power generation and water resource management projects, as well as regulatory matters related to geological resources. 

Beyond her legal practice, Joana is an experienced lecturer, having taught at leading universities on construction law, public procurement, and FIDIC contracts. She holds a law degree from the University of Porto and a postgraduate qualification in Civil Law. A frequent speaker and author, she has published extensively on construction and public contracting.
