Kiara Binta Nkuranga (MCIArb) is the First Female President of the Uganda National Association of Builders Suppliers and Engineering Contractors (UNABSEC) – an umbrella body of genuine players in Uganda’s construction industry. Before her election as President in December 2024, Kiara served as the Board Secretary of UNABSEC from 2022 to 2024.
She is a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators London UK; with a bias in Construction Disputes Arbitration and a law graduate of the prestigious Makerere University Kampala. She also holds a postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Law Development Centre. She is an Advocate of the High Court and a member of the Uganda Law Society and the East African Law Society. Kiara is also a member of the Uganda Christian Lawyers’ Fraternity and an alumnus of the Institute for National Transformation Uganda (Oakseed 19).
She boasts of over 10 years of experience in the construction sector currently, working as the Legal Manager at the highest-ranked local contractor in Uganda (by PwC) – Dott Services Ltd with specific expertise and experience in Construction Law, Dispute Resolution, and Employment practices. Kiara is also a trained QMS internal auditor under ISO 9001:2015.
