She regularly advises on contractual breaches arising from complex commercial transactions, enforcement of shareholders’ rights, construction disputes and expropriation of economic rights. She has been engaged in multi-jurisdictional litigation and complex international commercial arbitration disputes.
Ms. Agunbiade has been involved in major arbitration proceedings in Nigeria in the last eight years. For instance, she was involved in the widely-publicized Econet Wireless shareholders dispute which birthed series of arbitration proceedings in Nigeria and ensuing challenge proceedings before the Nigerian courts. In 2014, she was also involved in an energy dispute bothering on an alleged breach of an oil field unit agreement which eventually resorted to arbitration proceedings and interim measure proceedings before the Nigerian courts.
