Sadaff Habib

Sadaff is an Associate with Beale & Co Middle East in Dubai. She is recognised as a Rising Star and Recommended Lawyer in the Legal 500 Middle East Construction and “stands out as thoroughly informed and well-prepared” and “is building a reputation in international arbitration, as an arbitrator.” She is also a recipient of Africa’s 50 Most Promising Young Arbitration Practitioners 2020 Award and was shortlisted for the Middle East Legal Rising Star Award 2021.

Originally from Kenya, she read law in England, qualified in New York and is currently based in Dubai. She also holds a distinction in MSc in Construction Law and Dispute Resolution. 

Sadaff’s practice area includes international arbitration and dispute resolution primarily in construction and she acts both as counsel and as arbitrator. As counsel she has represented large scale developers, contractors and subcontractors.

As arbitrator she is proficient in the procedural aspects of arbitration and has significant experience in conducting arbitration proceedings efficiently whether under institutional rules or as ad hoc arbitrations.

Sadaff authored the chapter A New York Convention on international procedural law for arbitration- a thing of the future? which was published in the CIArb book A Brand New World: The Evolution and Future of Arbitration edited by Rowan Planterose and John Tackaberry QC. She regularly writes about developments in international arbitration and is an Assistant Editor of Kluwer Arbitration Blog for Africa. Sadaff is also on the UAE CIArb Branch Committee.
