Paul Greenwell is an expert witness specialising in forensic planning and project management. He acts for clients in international arbitration and litigation and has provided expert witness testimony in the UK Technology and Construction Court (TCC), under Dubai International Arbitration Centre (DIAC) rules in Dubai, virtually in international arbitration under ICC rules, and in litigation in the Polish Regional Court (via translation). He provides expert opinion in UK domestic adjudication and has also led expert work on negotiated and arbitrated disputes in MEA.
Alongside these expert roles, Paul offers independent expert project review and advice on programming, commercial and contractual aspects of major projects across the rail, power, defence and hospitality sectors.
With a background in planning and project management, he has experience as a contractor’s planning manager, consultant project manager, and clients’ representative on high-profile projects. Paul has more than 20 years of live project experience and an additional 15 years in forensic planning and project management disputes on a wide range of major construction claims. He has been responsible for the development of project systems and governance on a series of major projects.
Paul possesses strong programming, legal and contractual skills at all stages of the project life cycle and has worked on disputes involving FIDIC, iChemE, NEC, JCT, GC/Works1, PPC2000, Alliancing and various bespoke contracts.
