Thomas has over 15 years’ experience advising developer and contractor clients across the lifecycle of major projects in the energy, construction and infrastructure sectors globally. He typically advises clients on day-to-day contract management issues, and the resolution of multi-million Dollar claims through Court, arbitration, adjudication and other alternative dispute resolution proceedings. He is listed in Lexology’s International Arbitration index as a Future partner, and his practice is recognised as “Stand-out” in the energy sector by Legal 500 where he has advised in relation to South Africa’s largest conventional power plants, and developers / EPC and O&M Contractors of large scale domestic and international solar and windfarm projects on the African continent.
Thomas is the South African board representative of Africa Construction Law, a Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, and sits on the Arbitral Foundation of South Africa’s (AFSA) International Arbitration committee.
