Babatunde Fagbohunlu, SAN, is a Senior Partner and the Head of the Litigation & Arbitration Practice at Aluko & Oyebode. He is a barrister and solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria and was conferred with the prestigious rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) in December 2008 by the Legal Practitioners Privileges Committee.
He has advised and represented leading multinational clients including major oil and gas companies, telecommunications operators, and financial institutions in litigation, ad hoc arbitrations, and institutional arbitration proceedings. He frequently appears before major arbitral bodies, including the International Court of Arbitration of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC).
Tunde has played significant roles in the advancement of arbitration and ADR practice in Nigeria. He is a member of the National Committee on the Reform and Harmonization of Arbitration/ADR Laws in Nigeria; has served on the ICCA/Queen Mary University Task Force on Third Party Funding in International Arbitration; is a member of the LCIA African Users’ Council; is the immediate past Chair of the Management Board of the Lagos Chamber of Commerce International Arbitration Centre (LACIAC); and currently serves on the Governing Board of the International Council for Commercial Arbitration (ICCA).
His expertise has earned consistent international recognition. He is ranked Band 1 for Dispute Resolution in Nigeria by Chambers Global, and The Legal 500 Europe, Middle East & Africa has named him a Leading Individual in Dispute Resolution from 2018 to 2026.
