Mr Bongani Dladla is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB), an agency of the Department of Public Works and Infrastructure. The CIDB, established under the Construction Industry Development Board Act 38 of 2000 (CIDB Act), is mandated to regulate and advance the construction industry through strategic interventions and partnerships.
With a deep-rooted passion for the construction sector, Mr Dladla has built his career from the ground up, gaining extensive experience in managing complex programmes, public sector procurement, and digital innovation. A recognised thought leader, he is committed to fostering an industry culture that prioritises accountability, transparency, and collaboration. He is also passionate about engaging with changemakers and exploring sustainable ideas that drive meaningful progress.
Mr Dladla holds a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Civil Engineering (Cum Laude) from the University of KwaZulu-Natal and a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) in Engineering for Sustainable Development from the University of Cambridge, United Kingdom.
He is a Professional Engineer registered with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA), a Certified Director with the Institute of Directors in South Africa (IoDSA), and a Fellow of the South African Institution of Civil Engineering (SAICE).
