Abiola Aderibigbe (Western Africa Region)

Abiola is an experienced Academic, Executive and dual qualified  Solicitor (admitted in the UK &EU/Ireland) with significant experience within the Built Environment (Construction, Energy, Infrastructure & Engineering). 

He has had the privilege of working with organisations in different regions of the world including Europe Middle East & Africa (EMEA), Asia-Pacific (APAC), Latin America (LAD/LATAM) and North America (NA). 

 As a solicitor, Abiola is the Group Head of Legal & Commercial at the BESA Group, and also serves as Executive Manager – General Counsel and Chief Governance and Compliance Officer at PSJUK.  

As an academic, Abiola is a/an: 

  • Faculty Director (Lecturer) covering Construction & Engineering Law at the Chartered Institute of Professional Certifications;
  • Module Leader (Lecturer) on the International Construction Law (LLM) course at Liverpool John Moores University ( LJMU – Liverpool, UK);
  • Visting Lecturer & Supervisor within the Faculty of Engineering & Science at the University of Greenwich (London, UK); and
  • Academic Reviewer for the Journal of Construction Business and Managment (JCBM) based at the University of Cape Town (South Africa).

In addition, Abiola has also had several papers and articles he has written and/or co-authored published by various academic conferences and journalistic organisations. These include:  

  • The Association of Researchers in Construction Management (ARCOM);
  • The World Construction Symposium (WCS) hosted by Ceylon Institute of Builders (CIOB) and the University of Moratuwa (Sri Lanka);
  •  The Construction Index;
  • Archiecture Magazine (UK); and
  • Architect’s Choice Magazine (UK). 

Finally, Abiola’s passion for the Built Environment has also led to his current and active pursuit of a Doctorate (PhD) in the Built Environment (Construction, Energy, Infrastructure & Engineering Law) at LJMU.
